We are not amused.......




There's a huge amount of righteous indignation in archaeological circles about the way academic archaeologists are portrayed in "The Lost King".  First, there was "The Dig", and now this, showing the archaeology establishment as petty, vindictive, arrogant and corrupt. 

Of course we all know that most academic archaeologists are just as virtuous as the rest of us -- and so they are clearly right to be upset by what they see as unreliable narratives. But there is a certain irony, I think, in the fact that some senior archaeologists (who shall be nameless) are themselves masters of the dark arts of promoting wildly unreliable and complex myths in the media and pretending that they are true......
