Pigne d'Arolla (3790 m asl) and Tsidjiore Nouve glacier -- photo published on Twitter today. A classic textbook photo of a glacier that has disappeared.... to the right of centre you can see the defining moraine ridges, sweeping away round the corner to the foot of the mountains. Forty years ago there was a large crevassed glacier in the area now occupied by a few remnants of melting ice, covered by a thick layer of debris.
Very very sad.......
