Acts of God -- available as from now

Excuse me, ladies and gents, for posting something rather erratic (if Stonehenge and the bluestones are the things that keep you awake at night) -- but herewith a bit of shameless promotion........

The cover is designed, the book is printed, and I expect delivery on Monday.  Here is the blurb:

Eight members of a scientific expedition arrive in the Arctic wilderness of East Greenland at the height of the Cold War. At the same time the inhabitants of a remote Inuit village are evicted from their traditional hunting grounds. As one Act of God follows another, both the explorers and the Greenlanders become the unwitting guinea pigs in a series of grotesque experiments. The death toll mounts. Bit by bit, the victims uncover a global conspiracy, and realize that an implacable enemy with limitless resources will not allow any of them to survive.

And the good news is that if anybody wants to order a copy, either for the Kindle or paperback version, it can be done via this web site:

http://actsofgod.weebly.com/

I have been forced to stick it into a genre, so you'll see it advertised as an action thriller / conspiracy / mystery / adventure book.  But I'm not all that happy with labels like these.   I like to think that this book has rather more depth to it than most modern thrillers, and that characterization and location are as important as frenetic action and violence.

Anyway, if anybody gets to read the story, hope you enjoy it!  And as ever, please like it, rate it, and stick your reviews onto the Amazon web site so that it can struggle into the "top million bestsellers" list........

Brian,

Thanks for that easy link. Though I am not a reader as you know, (my eyes strain shut after ten minutes of reading) I will try to read your latest book. Because I sense more is said in it between the lines than in volumes of archie books and papers. While MPP (and RJL and others) write 'fiction as truth', you likely prefer 'truth as fiction'. While I go for truth as truth'.

Brian,

Will it be available in Fishguard or Haverfordwest book shops next week?

There is no mention of a Kindle edition... or did i miss it?

Hello Davey

yes, the books should be in the local shops as from Wednesday. There is a button for the Kindle edition, but following your comment I see that it could be better located. Will shift it to a position lower on the page!!

Actor/ comedian Billy Connolly mingled pleasantly with the Inuit communities he met in Arctic Canada in his excellent series, "Billy Connolly: Journey to the Edge of the World".

As ever, my advice is Google it if that link doesn't work.

In the genre of "action thriller/ conspiracy/ mystery/ adventure book"?: you should be writing for English Heritage. They never let the Truth get in the way of a certain good Myth that keeps the punters, children and grown - ups, rolling in.

Now there's a thought. I wonder which category MPP's latest Stonehenge book is in? Romance? Chick lit? Historical Fiction? Come to think of it, I wonder which category "The Bluestone Enigma" is in? I might just go and check.......

MP(P) Was A Rolling Stone - Psychedelic Soul, interminably long, but punctuated with moments of camaraderie and stunning self - revelation. Discontinued?

Never mind about "the unwilling guinea pigs", on this Blog many of us are more amused by the sight of the "wild goose chase" still apparently underway, in clockwise and anti - clockwise directions, at various bluestone sites, both inside and beyond Preseli. Is Murray Walker going to be asked to do one of his glorious high - pitched Grand Prix commentaries soon?
