Back from the hols

Sorry I have been unable to put up posts sent in by assorted colleagues over the past fortnight  -- two excellent weeks on La Gomera, with intermittent access to wifi and BLOGGER....... and with some strange Spanish Blogger outfit refusing to accept my password!

I'll try to get at all the messages received and post them by the middle of the week.....

How did you do on your Canaries island as regards rain and wind? Were you strategically south of the dreaded Jet Stream with all its unwanted meteorological 3543542 presents? And hope you've recruited everyone on the Production Team of BBC "Countryfile" onto this blogsite.

Thanks Tony. Actually it was very unsettled there too. We were there for a fortnight, and we had a real storm during the middle weekend -- tiles flying off roofs, glass windows smashed, cafe sunshades pulled off and twisted -- very spectacular it was.....

The rest of the holiday was unusually cloudy and damp too. But we got into the sea 3 times, and had plenty of sun, exercise and relaxation. So it was great anyway!

Sadly, never got round to talking to Countryfile about Stonehenge -- actually John Craven and his film team were the only ones I met...
