Poulnabrone dolmen, Ireland

Thought I'd share this -- from my one and only visit to Poulnabrone, many years ago.  Nice dolmen -- sorry about my lack of respect, for those who are appalled at such behaviour.......

Yes, strange things happen at cromlechs / dolmens. There are reputed to be fairies dancing in the moonlight at Pentre Ifan -- never seen them personally. One time when I went there at dusk I encountered a very strange fellow sitting under the capstone, playing his didgeridoo......... I'm still not sure whether that really did happen, or whether it was all a dream.....

Didgeridoo, or digeridoon't?

There WERE wallabies in the Peak District a while ago, so you never know......perhaps an Australasian connection/ tunnel?

Verne - esque journey to the centre of the earth...and beyond?? You never know....I'm sure Prof Tim "Challenger" Darvill would agree!

Yes I think they died out in one of the harsh winters a few years ago. They lived near Matlock- hell hole of the Peaks (I did my post grad research on Masson Hill, Matlock)It may be lovely now (doubt it-as is now full of antique shoppes)Matlock not Masson Hill that I now a reserve and all my exposures are covered and landscaped -cannot be second guessed.
They also lived near Leek The Roaches??
