Recently there has been press coverage of some new work on the Easter Island heads — how they were moved and erected. But the quarrying evidence is pretty well incontrovertible. Now THIS is what I call evidence — demonstrated, illustrated, enumerated and cited. What a contrast with the situations at Rhosyfelin and Carn Goedog....... where we have been TOLD a great deal and SHOWN nothing which can properly be cited as “evidence”.
The new article, in the Journal of Archaeological Science, deals mainly with the method used for getting the big stone hats onto the heads of some of the statues. There is a report here:

Quite a large percentage of those "Senior Academics" linkes to MPP, Stonehenge Riverside Project and the Rhosyfelin and Preseli Quarry Hunts have also got links to Easter Island research. So they have no excuses. Unfortunately, so much of their knowlwdge has just led to hubris.....they are self - proclaimed World Archaeologists.....
The fourth photo in this article suggests that some of these head carvings were massive in comparison to others. There is evidently a carving appearing in the rock face which is so much bigger than the 'planted' ones in the foreground - are the foreground ones just miniatures or the one left not finished too big a project to deliver?
