.... and a sweet little one

.... and this is the Menhir de Loc Majan (also called the Menhir de Lannoulouarn), near Plouguin and Aber Benoit, Finisterre, Brittany.  we were lucky enough to stay just along the lane from this one.  It's pretty impressive, standing at about 6.5m high, but it does rather suffer by comparison with the giant at Menhir de Kerloas.  Also dated at Late Neolithic.  Like the other menhirs, it seems to have been picked up locally -- although some of these standing stones are thought to have been transported on rollers over a distance of up to 3 km.
