Salisbury Plain LIDAR imagery
This is very impressive and informative. Courtesy Mark Walters. You need a good computer with a touch screen to get the best out of it.......
I mentioned using LIDAR on the Preseli's in an earlier comment on an older post. It would save MPP all his time from his wild goose chases and further damage to the hills.
An excellent example on the applied use of LIDAR is on the Bradford on Avon Museum website.It consists now of a video of the Budbury Hillfort. It has helped to pinpoint features of the Budbury Hillfort (this was partially excavated by Geoffrey Wainwright for English Heritage many years ago). Retired County Archaeologist Roy Canham has been leading the Museum's Research Group. LIDAR data which was recently made freely available by the Environment Agency was used:-
