... and it's every bit as appalling as I thought it would be. The carefully orchestrated media blitz is happening as we speak, with headlines in all of the media, and Alice on the Today prog just before 9 am, hardly able to contain her excitement. She'll be popping up on all the TV channels and all the news progs as well, as the day goes on. Poor Alice -- having made the programme for the telly (tonight at 9 pm on BBC2) she is now in so deep into MPP's excavated hole that she can't get out, so she might as well keep on digging. I actually feel quite sorry for her, since her job is to uphold and promote sound science, and here she is at the centre of something that has abandoned any pretence of scientific accuracy or rectitude..
The corporate gullibility across the board, for what is essentially a gigantic hoax, is quite extraordinary. Watch this space......
