I was sad to hear of the death early this morning of Prof David Bowen -- known pretty universally as "DQB" -- in Cardiff. He and I were contemporaries, and while we had some pretty big disagreements about dating and chronology, there were plenty of things relating to Quaternary Wales that we agreed on. So I send my deepest sympathy to his family, and may he rest in peace.
How much do we know about Stonehenge? Less than we think. And what has Stonehenge got to do with the Ice Age? More than we might think. This blog is mostly devoted to the problems of where the Stonehenge bluestones came from, and how they got from their source areas to the monument. Now and then I will muse on related Stonehenge topics which have an Ice Age dimension...
