Steve Spon has made a new drone film of the summit of Carningli -- fantastic images of the crags and the defensive structures. The defensive walls -- all assumed to have been slighted -- must once have been much more impressive, possibly surmounted with timber palisades. Date: assumed to be Iron Age, but possibly based on an earlier Bronze Age fortification.
How much do we know about Stonehenge? Less than we think. And what has Stonehenge got to do with the Ice Age? More than we might think. This blog is mostly devoted to the problems of where the Stonehenge bluestones came from, and how they got from their source areas to the monument.
