I think I have been banned from one of the social media pages to which I have occasionally contributed. My crime? I suspect it is to do with the fact that I try, occasionally, to point out that the things people say about sites like Rhosyfelin, Carn Goedog and Waun Mawn are, rather too frequently, so far wide of the truth that even MPP and his merry men probably wince when they come across them. The truth makes some people very angry indeed -- especially those who have fashioned their belief systems around the worship of monoliths and "sacred sites", and who assemble every convenient scrap of "evidence" that might reinforce what they take to be the correct history of their ancestors.
This is typical:Waun Mawn is a nearby site that now has only one remaining upright stone and a few toppled ones built from those quarried at the location above.
Most of the stones were removed and transported to Stonehenge. Fragments of stones were left in the pits and can be matched to individual stones at Stonehenge today. It is thought that the circle built at Stonehenge replicated the original dimensions and orientation of the Waun Mawn site.
