Waun Mawn geophysics report: nothing of interest

I was rooting around and came across this 2018 report from a Bournemouth University team, which adds a lot to the Waun Mawn story.  Let's put that another way -- it adds nothing at all to the Waun Mawn myth, since the geophysical work described fails to show up anything at all of archaeological interest.  Although the authors (having been paid to do a job for a client who wanted stoneholes to be found in a nice circular arrangement) wanted to say something encouraging, the best they could say was that certain scans showed up things that might have been of low or medium archaeological potential -- although the features shown were more likely to be related to morphology, vegetation or geology.

So there was virtually nothing in the report for MPP to latch onto.

One thing that intrigued me was the apparent lack of knowledge of the report authors of local geology, geomorphology and Quaternary sediments. (In the text, they simply cite the information lifted off the geological map of the area.)   One would have thought that knowledge of the stratigraphy would be essential for any shallow sub-surface investigations.   If they had bothered to ask me, I could have given them some help.......
