As it was foretold in the runes and the rattling bones, so it has come to pass. Indiana Pearson and his dogged slaves have undertaken their mighty quest in the bleak wilderness of the far west, braving deluges and hurricanes, fortified only by ale from the nearby Bluestone Brewery, and lo! they have prevailed! In the face of those who pronounced "This is a load of old cobblers!" they have persisted with their quest, for ten long years and more, doggedly hunting hither and thither across the sheep-strewn hillsides, and returning over and again to the same place, ever more determined to find the Lost Circle as it was predicted by Indiana Pearson himself, way back in the mists of time. And lo! Persistence has its rewards! They have found some dents in the ground, and a few convenient radiocarbon dates, and it has been decreed by the high priests that this is indeed the Lost Circle of Xanadu, or Shangri-la, or Stonehenge, or wherever. And when they found it, great were the celebrations, and many flagons of ale were consumed.......
And as it was foretold, it does not matter what was actually found on those rain-drenched hillsides, for facts have no meaning. What mattered was the corporate effort, the common enterprise, the camaraderie and the fellowship, the striving for a common goal, the bonding........ the tribe is all that matters, and the great leader, following his triumph, can bask in the glory of mighty headlines in those esteemed academic publications called The Sun and the Daily Mail. Oh happy day!
Doesn't much look like the setting for a standing stone... but hey... its on the telly now.
