How much do we know about Stonehenge? Less than we think. And what has Stonehenge got to do with the Ice Age? More than we might think. This blog is mostly devoted to the problems of where the Stonehenge bluestones came from, and how they got from their source areas to the monument. Historic papers now online
Thanks to a wonderful website called "Researchgate" it is possible for ancient academics like me to place their ancient papers in an online library -- making them available to anybody who wants to view them. (Most papers nowadays are placed online by the journal publishers, or are available to authors as proof PDFs which can be copied and distributed in their electronic versions -- but many more are only available via a subscription surface or by payment of a downloading fee.) The site managers at Researchgate are currently placing most of my key publications from the 1960s and 1970s onto the site, and the following are already available for reading online or for download:

Watch this space -- more to come. I hope that all who want to will be able to access these papers; I am not sure if one first has to register as a member of the research community. If there are any problems, please let me know........
