Those were the days.....
Thanks to Mike Pitts for flagging this up -- and to Julian Richards and EH, from whose collection this comes. Great pic! Midsummer in 1976. Now that the road and the old Visitor Centre are going, will we see the like of this again? I doubt it.......
Kostas, what is your explanation for those cube-shaped objects, and would you care to hazard a guess as to their provenance? Perchance from a due west, Glastonbury direction?
Cones are fruit-like things used by the highways people in jam making, and cubes are 6 squares joined together to make house shapes. Is it a coincidence that 6 is the cube root of 216, which is the distance in kilometres between Brian's house and Stonehenge?
Was this fact used when selecting the location of Brian's Cube?
I think this was the infamous roasting hot summer of the mid-70's, pre-Thatcher...........was it all a dream??
