  1. Is the last photo (complete as it is with reflection for added emphasis) an Arctic geologist's/ glaciologist's equivalent of THAT iconic photo of Ursula Andress emerging from the Caribbean waves and walking towards a grateful Sean Connery?

  2. Well, those pinnacles (I almost said those tits) are much photographed -- especially since the Lemaire Channel is now on the tourist ship circuit. This is one of the best photos I have seen -- we all see meanings in natural shapes, do we not? Even geomorphologists can be quite romantic at times.... when we were in the South Shetlands we gave various natural features our own private (meaningful) names, which I had better not mention on this hallowed blog. The naming tendency can be quite strong, especially when you haven't seen a female for several months or years!
